Notecards: On Reverse (Pen/Ink): Dates back to 1861. The “Cemeteries” line was discontinued and substituted by buses in1964, much to the dismay of preservationists. The streetcar was put back into service on Canal Street in 2004, after an absence of nearly 40 years; and a second route, the “City Park” line, was added.

It was built in 1861 as a horsecar line, electrified in 1894, then converted to diesel in 1964.
