"Neighborhoods": Lakeview, New Orleans, LA

The Lakeview neighborhood got its name from its close proximity to Lake Pontchartrain. The New Basin Canal (now closed) was built by Irish immigrants, and today there is a memorial honoring them. Harrison Avenue, an important and main thoroughfare of Lakeview, is where churches, schools, shops, libraries, banks, restaurants, etc are located.
